Head of Operations/Head of Flying Operations
Sally Scott
Sally was born and raised in Newcastle and Sydney before moving to Far North Queensland with her family in 1990. Sally learnt to fly at the NQAC in 1992 whilst still at school, and in late 1993 after completion of Year 12 started working in the office at the NQAC. Obtaining a commercial pilots licence in late 1995, she continued to work for the NQAC in the office and also doing charter work and scenics. A couple of years later, a chance conversation with the then CFI of the NQAC lead her to do something she never intended on doing, an Instructor Rating.
Sally has continued to work for the NQAC, as CFI/Chief Pilot and testing officer and was in that role for well over a decade. Teaching people to fly has become her life. She also enjoys travelling and has a small cattle property in Mareeba that keeps her busy on her weekends however resides in Cairns during the week.
Sally was also on a volunteer CASA Flying Training advisory Board for 6 years, providing advice to CASA relating to flying training matters.

Grade 1 Flight Instructor
Jack Doyle
Jack grew up in South Australia and began learning to fly in 2012. He gained his Commercial Pilots Licence in 2015. He has since worked as an agricultural pilot flying aerial spraying aircraft on the Atherton Tablelands and as a charter pilot across the Far North. Outside of aviation Jack has always held a strong interest and worked for a few years in agriculture and farming. He gained his Flight Instructor Rating in 2019 with the NQAC and has been casually instructing with the Club as a Grade 2 Instructor since 2021 and joined the team as a permanent instructor in October 2022. He enjoys flying a wide variety of aircraft, especially vintage taildraggers and high performance singles.

Grade 3 Flight Instructor/Charter Pilot
Anjana Kandel
Anjana is passionate about flying and enjoys the teaching aspect of it. She grew up in Melbourne and began flight training at Point Cook in 2022. She completed her Commercial Pilot’s Licence in 2023, followed by both her Multi-Engine Instrument Rating and Flight Instructor Rating in 2024. Before entering the workforce, she also obtained her Design Feature Training Endorsement. Anjana has been working as a Grade 3 Flight Instructor with the Aero Club since the beginning of 2025. Outside of flying, she enjoys dancing and staying active through various sports.

Grade 3 Flight Instructor/Charter Pilot
Jack Ralph
Jack grew up in Adelaide and developed a passion for aviation alongside a love for the outdoors, often spending his free time camping and four-wheel driving. He moved to Queensland to complete his Commercial Pilot’s Licence, which he gained in 2023, followed by his Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating in 2024. He then relocated to New South Wales to complete his instructor training, obtaining his Grade 3 Flight Instructor Rating with a Design Feature Training Endorsement later that year. Jack is currently working as a Grade 3 Flight Instructor at the North Queensland Aero Club, where he enjoys helping students build strong foundations in their flying careers.
